My Western Digital Hard Drive is not getting Recognized on My PC

Home > Frequently Asked Questions > My Western Digital Hard Drive is not getting Recognized on My PC

I am a quite loyal user of WD products but since many days my western digital hard drive is not getting recognized on my pc, it was working perfectly on my pc but when I tried it on another PC it displayed a message that it is not recognized.

You are required to follow these steps:

  1. First of all right click on Computer and select the Manage option.
  2. Click on Disk Management located in left pane.
  3. Identify your drive in its lower portion. If facing some difficulties then try reconnecting the device.
  4. Now, make a right-click inside the block and change the drive name or letter.
  5. Assign a different name or letter to it.

Now, your computer must show your hard drive with a new name. If it's not then there might be some issues with your hard drive, so you should seek for a hard drive recovery expert.

However, if it doesn't help you out then you may contact our service center at 1.800.347.5377.
