My XBOX 360 Hard Drive is not Recognized Anymore!

Home > Frequently Asked Questions >My XBOX 360 Hard Drive is not Recognized Anymore!

Hi I have an Xbox 360 gaming console along with 250 GB hard drive but recently due to some unknown reasons that Xbox 360 hard drive is not recognized by the console any longer. So I would like to know about making it properly working as a normal drive.

If your Xbox 360 hard drive is not showing up in the list of available storage devices, then there is a possibility that it is inserted incorrectly into the Xbox 360 console. Make sure you have inserted it correctly (push it well until you hear a sound of a click). However, you can also try detaching and re-attaching the hard drive with the help of following steps.

  1. First of all turn off the Xbox 360 console.
  2. Press the tab present at the front of hard drive and pick it up from the Xbox.
  3. Do not touch the bay contacts or connector contacts with your hand or other objects (metals etc.)
  4. Now, to reconnect the drive with the console, place the drive over the bay and push it down.
  5. Turn on the Xbox 360 gaming console back and see if the hard drive is recognized.

Still if it doesn't get recognized then your hard drive might have got corrupted and needs to be repaired with the help of a reliable hard drive recovery service. If not then, call up at 1.800.347.5377 for further instructions.
