I am trying to plug in my new 160 gig external drive into a 2.0 USB port but that external hard drive is not getting recognized by the computer. I am using Windows XP and if I check it in Device Manager, it shows up there. But it is not showing up in my computer. So I need to know how to resolve it?
Well this is the most common problem people are facing these days. Anyhow the only best way to fix out this issue is to boot up your computer after plugging in your external hard drive into a USB port. Definitely your computer will recognize it easily. But in case if it is not being recognized then try another USB port. Or else you might need a hard drive expert opinion.
