Why My CD Drive is not Detected?

Home > Frequently Asked Questions > Why My CD Drive is not Detected

Previously my CD drive was working perfectly but now when I turned on my PC and tried to use the CD drive, the same CD drive is not detected by my PC. It is displayed at Device Manager and has an error code: 22. Kindly suggest me something so that I can sort it out.

Well, you would have to do the following things.

  1. Open the case. Unplug and re-plug the power plugs and SATA in the back of the drive.
  2. Ensure that you have installed the proper drivers for the particular drive or you can easily download them from the manufacturer's website.
  3. Try to use another SATA port on the motherboard of your computer system.

Possibly, the issue would be resolved after performing these steps. However if it still persists, call our experts at 1.800.347.5377and get further guidance about data recovery or whatever your concern is.
