I have 500 GB WD external hard drive. It was working fine but now it is not showing in my computer. I have tried my best but nothing good happened and the problem is same. Please give me suggestion to resolve my HDD 500 GB problem.HDD 500 GB Problem

Method 1:

Well, you haven’t written enough details; however, try these directives.

  • Click Start.
  • In Run, type compmgmt.msc and press Enter.
  • On the right side, click Disk Management.
  • If the drive is shown there, then your hard drive is intact physically.
  • If it is not shown in My Computer, then it means that you will have to assign a letter to the drive.
  • Assign it a letter like C, D, and E (assign a unique letter).
  • After assigning a letter, hopefully it will be shown in your computer.

Alternate method:

Check your drive in Disk Management.HDD 500 GB Problem

  • If your hard drive is not shown in Disk Management then try to check hard drive cables.
  • Also try to update motherboard BIOS.
  • Check it in BIOS; if not shown in BIOS then it may be some physical problem.
  • In case of any physical problem don’t try to repair the drive by yourself.
