I would really appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction with some help. I am not so, aware of computer stuff so, expect some basic questions while seeking advice. I have a portable hard drive of 500 GB and it flat out stopped working. I know this happens and simple unplugging and reboot could be the solution many a times. But this time around when I plug in this hard drive is not being recognized at all not even showing in the disk management. Help me if there is anything I could do to get it working like before.Maxtor one touch 4 troubleshooting

What you could do is that you could follow the under given instructions in an orderly manner. This might sort out your problem.

 

  • Plug in the OneTouch's USB cable into the USB port.
  • Open the Start menu.
  • Select Control Panel
  • Detect and remove all hidden Trojans, Malware, Ad & Spyware.
  • Click "System and Security."
  • Click "Administrative Tools."
  • Double-click "Computer Management."
  • View the OneTouch drive by clicking "Disk Management and Right-click on the OneTouch and choose "Format."
  • Click "OK" to format the OneTouch.
