Seagate External Hard Drive Beeping

Hey I have a portable Seagate 500 GB hard drive. It’s only few months old and has been working fine till last weekend when I switched it on and it suddenly stopped working. I mean it does not sound like normal and it’s making a beeping sound. This is a very low sound but it is there when I get close to the portable hard drive to hear it. It stays there and is constant. Well in this case there could be list of solutions until knowing exactly what the problem is in your portable hard drive.

You could change the external casing of the hard drive.
Sometimes when you drop the hard drive the arm gets stuck and you can get it moving by just removing the casing and see if it works.
Another thing you could do is that you can switch between the ports and see if the port you were using was functional or not. It seems like a power issue.
Another thing that could happen to a dropped hard drive is that it has a seized spindle motor and heads are stuck to platters. This issue sometimes can be handled with little percussive maintenance. It can be risky though in terms of losing the data.
